: This activity was conducted as a quality improvement/program evaluation initiative. The project was reviewed using the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Electronic Determination Aid (VAEDA) and determined not to constitute human subjects research (VAEDA ID #57682). Therefore, the activity was not submitted to and was not reviewed/approved by a local ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB), because IRB review requirements under U.S. federal regulations (38 CFR Part 16) apply to research involving human subjects. Participation in the anonymous pre-/post-education surveys was voluntary; no direct identifiers were collected. Written informed consent to participate was not obtained because the activity was classified as QI/program evaluation and not human subjects research; completion of the anonymous survey was considered implied consent to participate. The activity was conducted consistent with applicable ethical principles and in a manner consistent with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.
