: The concept was approved by Makerere University, School of Medicine Research Ethics Committee, SOMREC (#REC REF 2020–024), and UNCST (HS542ES). The SOMREC is under Makerere University, School of Medicine, and is accredited under the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology, . Administrative approvals to conduct the training were obtained from the respective partner institutions across the six EAC partner states. Co-Investigators and focal persons in each country informed all relevant stakeholders about the training program and associated assessments.
