: The concept was approved by Makerere University, School of Medicine Research Ethics Committee, SOMREC (#REC REF 2020–024), and UNCST (HS542ES). The SOMREC is under Makerere University, School of Medicine, and is accredited under the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology, . Administrative approvals to conduct the training were obtained from the respective partner institutions across the six EAC partner states. Co-Investigators and focal persons in each country informed all relevant stakeholders about the training program and associated assessments. Participation was entirely voluntary, and all trainees provided their informed consent to take part in the training and evaluation activities. All study activities were conducted in compliance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.
