: This study did not require review by a Medical Research Ethics Committee (MREC) under Dutch law (Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act, WMO). According to the Central Committee on Research Involving Human Subjects (CCMO), the WMO applies only to medical-scientific research that subjects participants to procedures or requires them to follow rules; our research comprised qualitative interviews aimed at exploring participants’ professional perspectives and experiences, without any medical intervention or collection of sensitive health-related data (CCMO: “Your research: subject to the WMO or not?”,). Yet, the study was submitted to the Medical Research Ethics Committee of the Erasmus Medical Center for review. The committee also determined that the study was exempt from the WMO (MEC-2024-0036). In line with Erasmus MC policy for non-WMO research, the study followed the established quality assurance procedure. Participation was entirely voluntary, informed consent was obtained from all respondents, and data were anonymized prior to analysis. The study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Declaration of Helsinki, as in force at the time of the study (2013 revision).
