Ethics approval and consent to participate
: This study has been approved by the ethical review committee of the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology no. HS 703 and by Mulago hospital’s ethical board (date: 12/1–2011). All participant data has been aggregated and analysed anonymously. All participants were invited on a voluntary basis and gave their written informed consent to participate. The clients were informed that they could withdraw at any moment without any consequences for them and that all data would be kept anonymous.The clients received no compensation other than that they for free could send and receive the SMSs via a pre-paid service that the project gave them access to during the duration of the project.
