Ethics approval and consent to participate

: This project was an exercise in patient and public involvement in the development of a new product and a service evaluation of patient information systems. Further ethical approval was not required, as indicated by our local Research and Development body and in line with the National Research Ethics Service (NRES) and INVOLVE joint statement on the position of ethics and PPI [CitationRef removed, CitationRef removed]. No identifying personal or medical information was obtained or recorded for the purposes of research or any other use.
