The Ethics Committee Research of University Hospitals Leuven (UZ Leuven) and KU Leuven confirmed that the study did not fall under the scope of the Belgian Law of 7 May 2004 on experiments on the human person, as it involved an anonymous, non-interventional survey among healthcare professionals. As a result and given the anonymous and non-interventional nature of the survey, the requirement for informed consent was formally waived by the Ethics Committee Research of University Hospitals Leuven (UZ Leuven) and KU Leuven.
