Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Permission for conducting the research was initially obtained from the ethical committee of Asmara College of Health Sciences, Ministry of Health at the department of research and human resource development. Further permission was obtained from the study sites in this case, the hospitals after an organized meeting with the hospital heads prior to carrying out the study. Verbal and written informed consent was obtained from the participants before administering the questionnaire. Any specific participant’s identifier was not included in the data collection tool and this was assured by using code numbers in order to promote confidentiality and anonymity.
