: The execution of this study adhered to the guidelines outlined in the COREQ checklist for qualitative research and was in compliance with the Helsinki Declaration. Ethical clearance was granted by SIKT – Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research – under Project No. 255238. In addition, the study received approval from the local protection officer at the participating hospitals and the head of the nursing department at the University of South-Eastern Norway. As is stipulated in the Norwegian Health Research Act (Helseforskningsloven, 2008, § 4), further ethical approval from the clinical ethical committee was not required since the study was not classified as medical or health research. All participants were provided with both written and verbal information regarding confidentiality and the voluntary nature of their participation. Informed consent was duly obtained from all participants prior to recording the interviews/focus groups.
