: The study was a document analysis of official and publicly available subject plans from Norwegian bachelor nursing programmes and did not involve human participants, human tissue, or identifiable personal data. Therefore, approval from Sikt – the Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research – was deemed unnecessary. In accordance with the Norwegian Health Research Act [ ] and the guidelines of the The National Committee for Research Ethics in the Social Sciences and the Humanities (NESH) [ ], such research does not fall within the scope of medical and health research requiring ethics approval. Consequently, the study was not submitted to an ethics committee or Institutional Review Board, as this was deemed unnecessary under national regulations. Since the documents were publicly available, informed ‘consent to participate’ was not applicable. The leaders of the nursing education programmes assisted in providing the relevant documents, they were informed by the NorNERN group about the overall project focus and that all documents would be treated with due care and respect. To avoid bias, none of the researchers analyzed study plans or subject plans from their own institution, thereby preventing the introduction of additional information not described in the original documents. Our study involved a document analysis of publicly available documents and did not include humans, human data, or human material. While the Declaration of Helsinki [ ] primarily applies to research involving humans, we confirm that our research adhered to general principles of research integrity and ethics.
