Ethics approval and consent to participate: The Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Bayero University Kano (Reference: AKTH/MAC/SUB/12A/P-3/VI/3264) and the Health Research Ethics Committee of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, Nigeria (Reference: NHREC/25/04/2024) provided formal ethical approval for this study. Following regulatory authorization, a hospital-based cross-sectional descriptive survey was employed to examine the associations of physical activity, pain intensity, and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) with the work ability of nursing professionals experiencing mechanical low back pain (LBP). All procedures were performed in strict accordance with the ethical standards of the Declaration of Helsinki. Informed written consent was obtained from all participating nurses prior to their enrollment in the cross-sectional survey.
