Ethics approval and consent to participate

: Ethic approval for this study was granted by the University of Wollongong, Illawarra and Shoalhaven Local Health District Health and Medical Human Ethics Committee (HE16/171), as well as the Aboriginal Health Medical Research Committee (AHMRC) (1204/16). Site-specific approval (SSA) forms were approved by the Acting Heads of Cardiology in the two participating hospitals. The conditions and ethical guidelines were upheld throughout the completion of this study. Written consent from all participants was obtained and allowed for audio recording for the purpose of transcribing the interview verbatim for rigour as per ethical conditions.

: Consent for the Better Cardiac Care video series to be use in this research and for future publication was granted on behalf of the NSW Ministry of Health by the NSW Centre for Aboriginal Health’s Director on 20th July 2016. Consent of health professional’s participation and data for publication was also granted via written consent forms. The AHMRC ethics committee reviewed and approved the draft manuscript prior to submission for publication.
