Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study adhered to good research practice, including obtaining informed consent from study participants and maintenance of anonymity and confidentiality of all collected data. All participants agreed to participate in the study through written informed consent or fingerprinting when they could not write.Ethical clearance was obtained from the ethics committee at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and the Institutional Bioethics Committee for Health of the Maputo Central Hospital/Faculty of Medicine of University Eduardo Mondlane (reference number CIBSFM&HCM07/2013). After this approval in 2015, an amendment was submitted to add an activity related to the supportive supervision and referral tracking tools. Administrative approval was obtained from the Maputo Provincial Health Directorate and the District Health Directorates of Manhiça and Moamba.
