Ethics approval and consent to participate

: Study protocol and instruments were reviewed and approved by Atma Jaya University’s Ethical Review Board (No.1272/III/LPPM-PM.10.05/11/2015). All participants were informed of the study purpose and provided their consent to participate in the study. The consent for interview was obtained verbally, by asking the participant if they were willing to be interviewed and if it was okay to audio record the interview. Participants were advised that they were free to skip any question or to withdraw from the interview at any point. Interviewers also informed the participants that their quotes might be directly published but efforts would be taken to ensure their confidentiality and no identifying information will be published. After participants consented, the recorder was turned on and they were asked once again to confirm their voluntary participation so that it was recorded. The oral consent was approved by the IRB and it is chosen because a written consent is generally associated with legal deals in the context of Indonesia and thus might induce anxiety among participants. We depersonalized the participant’s data to maintain confidentiality and stored digital and verbatim transcript centrally in Center on Child Protection and Wellbeing, University of Indonesia. There was no compensation for participants.

: All participants who consented to interview gave their permission for their direct quotes to be published in confidential manner.
