: The ZAZI health programme and embedded study were both approved by the University of Witwatersrand, Human Research Ethics Committee (Wits HREC). The study was reviewed in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) human research protection procedures and was determined to be research, but CDC investigators did not interact with human subjects or have access to identifiable data or specimens for research purposes (CGH 2018–017). All voluntary participants provided written informed consent prior to any study procedures being conducted.
