Ethics approval and consent to participate

: The OPAL study was reviewed and given favourable opinion by the East Midlands - Derby Research Ethics Committee (16/EM/0341) and approved by the Health Research Authority in UK. Written participant consent was taken from all patients in the cohort study and qualitative patient interviews (IM Step 1). Written (for face-to-face interviews) or verbal (phone interviews) consent was taken from non-patient participants (workplace representatives, G. Ps, hospital orthopaedic staff) for the qualitative stakeholder interviews (IM Step 1).
