Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Institutional Review Board and the Malawi National Health Science Research Committee approved the ISA validation study in April 2017. Verbal informed consent was obtained from all study participants. Verbal consent was obtained because the interviews were conducted over the phone and this procedure was approved by both ethical bodies.
