: The ethical review committee of Samara University College of Medical and Health Sciences approved the study on 05/05/2021 with reference number ERC0024/21. An official permission letter was obtained from Afar Regional Health Bureau and Mille district Administration. Adolescents were thoroughly informed about their rights and the purpose of the research. Informed written consent was obtained from each study participant and from his/her parents after explanation of what research they will take part in. Involvement in the study started only after a completed written consent was obtained. All data collectors and the principal investigator ensured confidentiality by using code numbers to replace names and by keeping questionnaires secured. Interviews were made privately to ensure anonymity/confidentiality of the study participants. We also confirm that all scientific methods have been carried out in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
