: There was no human involvement in the study with regards to SARS-CoV-2 testing. The study used already existing, anonymous routinely collected statistics on SARS-CoV-2 testing. The data analyses conducted in this work are among the legal tasks of Sciensano (Law establishment Sciensano). Article 4.4 explicitly states that Sciensano is authorised to collect, validate, analyse, report and archive data of a personal nature concerning public health. Sciensano is further authorised to make these processed data available with approval of the qualified sectoral committees. Such approval for these data was obtained from the Information Security Committee Social Security and Health. Both online surveys were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Declaration of Helsinki, and informed consent was obtained from all participants. The COVID-19 health survey was approved by the ethical committee of the Ghent University Hospital (BC-07544).
