: This study was carried out in accordance with the guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki. The study was approved by the Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research (SIKT) (approval number 805491). The research project was processed by the Regional Committee for Medical and Healthcare Research Ethics (REC) and was exempted as it falls under health service research (registration number 52825). In the invitation letter and orally, all participants were informed that their participation was voluntary and that they could withdraw at any time. We received both oral and written informed consent from all of the participants. Due to possible “Third persons information” in the interviews, patients were informed, both orally and in writing, by healthcare personnel that we want to interview their next of kin, with the option to refuse participation.
