: Ethics committee of Akershus University Hospital/ Hospital Data Protection Officer approved this study (protocol number 2022_3). The management of the PACU and the anaesthesia department approved the evaluation of the intervention. The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki guidelines and the ethical guidelines for nursing research in Nordic countries. The principles of autonomy, beneficence, justice and no harm were followed by conveying voluntariness and ensuring confidentiality. Moreover, the right to withdraw without reason or consequences was expressed, and written informed consent was obtained before the FG interviews.Individual counselling with an external coach was available after the FG interview, if reactions were to occur.
