: This paper presents findings from a secondary analysis of data collected as part of the PMA Ethiopia project. The study was conducted according to the declaration of Helsinki. The original study underwent rigorous review and approval by the Ethical Review Board at Addis Ababa University, College of Health Sciences (AAU/CHS) (Ref: AAUMF 01–008), as well as the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) (FWA00000287). Authorization to utilize the dataset was granted by Addis Ababa University. Informed consent was obtained from all women before interviews.
