: This research was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Amazonas (Protocol No. 68568223.3.0000.5020). All participants signed an informed consent prior to data collection agreeing to participate in the study. The principal investigator (FJH) obtained approval to conduct the study from the Municipal Health Department of the city of Itacoatiara. Information concerning data collection procedures was provided to all participants. Signed written consent was then obtained before data collection. The interviewers ensured participants’ privacy during the interviews in a private room at the participants’ household. The voluntary participation in the study was emphasised, and they could withdraw at any time. Confidentiality was ensured through by anonymising the data using identification numbers. In addition, the data set was stored on an institutional computer in a password-protected file.
