: The Scientific Ethics Review Unit at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (Nairobi, Kenya), the Human Subjects Division at the University of Washington (Seattle, USA), and Fred Hutch Cancer Center (Seattle, USA) all reviewed and approved the study protocols for both pilots. All human subjects gave written informed consent and received 500 KSH (~$5 USD) for completing research-related activities (e.g., surveys). Information given to study participants on confidentiality, options for withdrawal, and data management practices were in accordance with the Helsinki Declaration of Ethical Principles and the General Data Protection Regulation in Kenya.
