: This study was planned and conducted in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR) and is under guidance of the data protection officers of the conducting research department. The ethics committee of the German Society of Nursing Science (DGP eV.) approved the conduction of the focus groups on the 14th of April 2024 (application no. 24 − 007) as part of a larger study on the implementation of a nurse-led unit in a German maximum provider hospital. Participation was voluntary. After receiving written and verbal information on the study including statements on data protection and concordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), all participants provided written informed consent to participation, to analysis of the data obtained and to publication of anonymised results. The study was not of interventional nature. The participating stakeholder were considered a non-vulnerable population in the study context and participation was not classified as of particular risk.
