: Initial workshops were conducted as part of larger patient and public involvement (PPI) work supported by the University of Ghana and the University of Cambridge, and subsequent consultations with healthcare professionals were conducted under existing ethical approvals for global research provided by the University of Cambridge Department of Engineering Ethics Review Committee (application number 579). Ethical approval for the quantitative aspect of the study was provided in the UK by the University of Cambridge Psychology Research Ethics Committee (application number PRE0.2023.119) and in Ghana each recruiting hospital provided local ethical approval.
