: This study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki and relevant local regulations. Ethical approval was obtained from the Research Ethics Committee of Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, Buddhist Tzu Chi Medical Foundation (REC113-13). The study utilized three types of datasets: (1) demographic data from the Department of Household Registration, Ministry of the Interior, Executive Yuan; (2) annual blood supply and demand data published by the Taiwan Blood Services Foundation from 2011 to 2024; and (3) national population projection data from the National Development Council of Taiwan (2024 edition). As the study did not involve any direct interventions or experimental procedures with human participants, the Ethics Committee waived the requirement for informed consent.
