Human ethics and consent to participate: This study was conducted using routinely collected registry data. The project was approved as a quality improvement initiative by hospital management in Region Zealand (approval ID: EMN-2026-00649) and registered in the Regional Research Registry, Region Zealand. According to Danish legislation, studies based solely on routinely collected registry data do not require approval from a regional research ethics committee or informed consent. The study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki.
Patient and public involvement: Patients and members of the public were not involved in the design, conduct, reporting, or dissemination plans of this study. The study was based on routinely collected registry data and retrospective analysis of an established hospital-at-home service. No patient advisers were involved in defining the research questions or outcome measures.
