The University of Helsinki Research Ethics Committee in the Humanities and Social and Behavioural Sciences confirmed that prior ethical review was not required because the study did not involve any of the conditions requiring ethical review under the applicable Finnish guidelines. The study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles of the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity. As the study was non-medical human-sciences research, it was not governed by the WMA Declaration of Helsinki.
