: All animal procedures of this study have been approved by the responsible regional government office (Niedersaechsisches Landesamt fuer Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit (LAVES)) under the permit numbers 33.42502/08-07.02 and 33.14.42502-04-064/07. The animals were group-housed with other macaque monkeys in the facilities of the German Primate Center in Goettingen, Germany, in accordance with all applicable German and European regulations. The German Primate Center has several staff veterinarians that regularly monitor and examine the animals and consult on procedures (see the “ ” section for more details).
