: Fish specimens were obtained from routine trawl catches and were not captured specifically for the purposes of this study. All biological samples were collected postmortem from individuals that had died during the fishing operation and subsequent catch processing. Consequently, no anesthesia or euthanasia procedures were performed as part of this study. Because the study relied exclusively on tissues collected from dead fish and did not involve any experimental manipulation of live animals, ethical approval was not required under Directive 2010/63/EU and the applicable national regulations.
