: This study was approved by the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) Scientific and Ethics Review Unit and the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) institutional review boards. Archived (2008-2017) and freshly collected (2018-2021) samples were collected under protocol numbers: KEMRI #1330 and #3628, WRAIR #1384, and #2454.A written informed consent was obtained from every participant. Parents/guardians provided written assent for children less than 18 years.
