: In the ABCD study, written informed consent from caregivers and verbal assent from children were obtained. All procedures received approval from the centralized institutional review board (IRB) from the University of California, San Diego, and each study site obtained approval from its local IRB (e.g., Washington University in St. Louis) (ExternalRef removed). In the Danish national study, the study was approved by the Data Protection Agency (record number 2013–41–2569). By Danish law, no informed consent is required for a register-based study of anonymized data.
