: According to Danish law and legislation, ethical review board approval or patient consent is not required for register-based studies. This study is approved by the Danish Data Protection Agency under the current joint notification of the Region of Southern Denmark (j.no. 19–11743). The representatives for patients and their relatives are part of the research council at our department, and the patient representatives have been involved in the research process, where they have been a part of the discussion about the research idea and which outcomes to measure. However, patient representatives were not involved in the methodological design of the study or in the manuscript writing process.
