Ethics approval and consent to participate: The study was approved by the Ethical Review Committee of National Institute of Parasitic Diseases, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research) (ref: 2024-009). This trial was registered with on 27 February 2025, number ISRCTN46268871 ( ). The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. Written informed consents were obtained from all participants. After the study, the participants who remained positive after treatment, or who were positive but excluded due to exclusionary criteria (except for pregnant women or the individuals with other contraindications) were provided with praziquantel (25 mg/kg 3 times daily for 1 day) free.
