Ethics approval and consent to participate

: The study was carried out using a part of blood which had been collected for transfusion at the Veterinary Hospital. The blood was obtained with the consent of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine who owned the cat. As stored blood was used, no separate ethical approval was required for the study. All efforts were made to minimize the discomfort of the animals during sampling.
