Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The study and associated protocol was approved by the local Ethical Committee of the Department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals, Utrecht University. Dog owners gave their verbal informed consent when choosing the option of laparoscopic surgery instead of a standard celiotomy approach for ovarian remnant removal. Participation in postoperative GnRH stimulation testing was only possible after full consent and cooperation by the dog owners.
