Ethics approval

: According to the European directive EU/2010/63 and local law regulating animal experiments, there was no need for the approval of Ethical Committee for the described procedures, as the sample collections were performed as part of routine monthly veterinary examinations requested by the trainers and the owners of the horses. Therefore, procedures qualified as non-experimental clinical veterinary practices are excluded from the directive.
