Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The research involved obtaining information from farmers and treating goats naturally/experimentally infected with <i>H. contortus</i>. The study was conducted in accordance with the Sudanese Animal Welfare law and approval was obtained from the Research and Ethics Committee at the Faculty of Veterinary Science, University of Nyala, Sudan (Ref. UN/FVS/1/34). For the field trials, informed verbal consent was obtained from the farmers. Verbal consent was chosen since a large proportion of the local rural population are illiterates. This proceeding was approved by the Ethics Committee.
