: Not applicable, according to the Italian Decree n. 26 (04/03/2014), Art. 2. Animals included in the study were privately-owned and belonged to commercial herds. Samples were collected with the consent of the farmers who asked for CAEV serology in order to know the status of their herds. For the study only an additional EDTA blood sample was necessary. The animals continued to belong to the farmers and were managed by them for commercial purposes, given that no follow up after the sampling was necessary for the study.
