Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The site where the rodents were collected belongs to Southern Medical University. This study’s protocol was approved by the Animal Ethics and Welfare Committee of the School of Public Health, Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China. Animals were cared for according to the Rules for the Implementation of Laboratory Animal Medicine (1998) by the Ministry of Health, China. All surgical procedures were performed under diethyl ether anesthesia to minimize suffering. Endangered or protected species were not involved in this study.The protocol of collecting MRSA isolates from patients was approved by the ethics committee of Southern Medical University, and was performed in accordance with the ethical standards noted in the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its later amendments.
