Ethics approval and consent to participate

: This article describes the investigation of a herd problem including a herd visit and hospitalization of representative animals. The sampling and examinations of all animals was conducted in accordance with international guidelines and national law concerning animal welfare. Animal sampling and treatment were part of a routine veterinary practice and calves were not subjected to new or experimental treatments; thus no ethics approval was required for this case report.
