Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Cloacal swabs were collected from wild-living migratory birds at the time of ringing. The ornithologist ringed the birds with the consent of the General Directorate of Environmental Protection, Poland (nos. 291/2016 and 291/2017) in accordance with decisions DZP-ExternalRef removed, DZP-WG.6401.03.97.2017.jro and Minister of Environment DLP-VIII-6713-21/29762/14/RN. In accordance with the Polish law the Act of January 15th, 2015 on the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific or Educational Purposes (Dz.U.2015.266) fecal and cloacal sampling does not require the consent of the local ethics committee (Article 1.2, point 5).
