: Live animals were not involved in this study while only the samples of deer faeces were used from previous study []. At that time deer faeces samples were collected by hunters from hunting families. In accordance with the Directive 2010/63/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes and Slovenian Animal Protection Law (Uradni list RS št. 38/2013 and 21/2018) non-experimental clinical veterinary practices and practices not likely to cause pain, suffering distress or lasting harm equivalent to, or higher than that caused by the introduction of a needle is not considered as experiment on animals and permission for experiment on animals from competent authority is not required.
