Ethics approval and consent to participate
: All data were collected via questionnaires by facsimile, thus no procedures were performed on animals and no animal ethics approval was necessary according to §15 TSchG (Animal Protection Act). Written consent was obtained from all practitioners to use the information for this study. Data were analysed retrospectively in anonymised form and the study was conducted according to the Bavarian Data Protection law in place during the time of the study (BayDSG, version 1993, last changed 25th October 2000) and according to this law no formal ethics approval was required.
