Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Use of the VetCompass Australia data for the purpose described in this study was approved the Board of Directors of VetCompass Australia and the University of Sydney’s Ethics Committee (Project: VetCompass Australia 2013/919). The case-control questionnaire survey was approved by the Human Ethics Committee of the University of Melbourne (Ethics ID 1851740.1).Informed verbal consent was obtained from all participants completing the questionnaire. Verbal, rather than written, consent was used because questionnaires were administered either by telephone or by electronic mail. Permission to use verbal consent for this study was provided by the Human Ethics Committee of the University of Melbourne.
