: All animal experiments or samplings were conducted by veterinarians and in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the EU Directive 2010/63/EU, the European Convention for the Protection of Vertebrate Animals Used for Experimental and other Scientific Purposes and the German Animal Protection Law (Tierschutzgesetz). The animal experiment was approved by the Landesdirektion Sachsen (permit no. TVV58/20) as regulated by §15 of the German Animal Protection Law. The Animal Protection Committee of the Landesdirektion Sachsen (Ethics Committee) is involved in the process of approval of the animal experiment by the Landesdirektion Sachsen. Collection of blood from non-infected piglets for scientific purposes is registered under the permit number A09/19.
