: The whiskers and pieces of upper lip tissues (proboscis) were collected from cadavers. Sample collection other than blood examination was performed after permission by owners and/or representative with verbal or written informed consent. Sample collection was performed humanely. This study did not involve the use of experimental animals, however, handling of hospitalized animals were corresponding to the high standards of international veterinary clinical care, the animal experiment regulations of Tottori University, and the Basic Guidelines for the Proper Implementation of Animal Experiments in Academic Research Institutions under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan.
