: All methods are performed in accordance with the ARRIVE guidelines () for the reporting of animal experiments. The wild red-crowned crane samples were consented from Jilin Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center before inclusion in the study. Trained veterinarians obtained all the samples, following standard routine procedures. All methods were performed in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
