: Informed consent was obtained from all dog owners. Data and blood samples originated partly from a behavioral study carried out by the Domestication Lab at the University of Veterinary Medicine that took place at the same time and were approved by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research (Ref: BMBWF 20221 − 0.210.26). For the CAD cohort, 34 surplus blood serum samples were analysed that were collected in the Dermatology Service of the Small Animal Clinic of the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. All methods were carried out in according to Austrian guidelines and regulations, and approval was given by the Ethics Committee of the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna.
