: Not applicable. According to Polish law, studies conducted on animal tissue (including organs collected post-mortem) do not require permission from the Ethical Board. Polish Parliament: Act on the protection of animals used for scientific or educational purposes ( (2015) (accessed on 1July 2024). Cadavers were taken from the Department of Pathology, Division of Pathomorphology and Veterinary Forensics, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. The samples from the dogs included in our study were taken during routine necropsies.
